This is a wonderfully constructed set. The gilt metal looks like it was knitted and has overlapping panels which sit beautifully on the collar bones. The clasp has the Mosell '3 lantern' fob which he applied to his better pieces, although all Frederick Mosell's pieces are wonderful, with a really unique design sensibility. He worked in New York from the late 1940s up until the 1970s. His pieces were made in small quantities and are consequently hard to find and highly collectable. The modernity of his work makes it utterly wearable now too.
