This is a truly magnificent hair comb in faux tortoiseshell by August Bonaz, one of the most famous jewellery designers in early plastics. He is especially known for Art Deco Bakelite but these head combs are earlier and made in Galalith, which is similar to Bakelite, but has milk as one of its ingredients! This incredible piece would be great for someone with a lot of long hair. Due to its size, it looks more like a tiara when worn. Because of the revolutionary (in 1900) material, it is very light, and therefore stays in place. Also a spectacular piece for a collector.
